Many members of the Business Analytics Research Group participate in this fantastic conference. The organization hold the 1st Women in Science (WiS) event in the EURO Conference. The main goal was to highlight the role of WiS throughout history.

Marcelus Fabri and Helena Ramalhinho presented a paper on “Optimizing Factory Logistics in a Automotive Industry

Abstract: Logistics chains do not end at the entrance of a Factory. Optimizing the processes of provision and disposal of the materials and the components for production lines are becoming key way to increase efficiency and decrease costs in manufacturing. This research mainly focuses on studying and modeling the Warehouse Shipping Routing Problem at the internal Warehouse at SEAT S.A. We propose a mathematical model and an Iterated Local Search metaheuristic combined with Simulation to solve this problem. We present computational results with real data and conclude that our proposed approach improves the actual solution and provides a tool to be used in scenarios of production on new car models.
